Mark Holm, PSP, CTS-D, CPD
Mark Holm applies his 32 years of experience in the technology, design and construction field to a broad range of project types and has successfully contributed in a variety of design, construction, consulting and management roles. His background in audiovisual and security technology, combined with his depth of practical project experience, has made him a subject-matter expert in the Command and Control Room specialty area. His projects have included video surveillance, access control, mass notification, visualization (video wall), intrusion detection, public address and building automation integration. Mark has also functioned as an architectural liaison to confirm that technology considerations are properly represented in the building design process and construction documents.
In his current role, Mark brings enhanced value to commercial, government, healthcare and educational institutions by providing needs assessment, threat and vulnerability analysis, master planning, contract negotiation and construction support services. His expertise includes end-to-end management of turn-key technical projects from concept through completion. Mark also maintains awareness of current and emerging trends in electronic security and audiovisual technology. His understanding and application of technology deployment methodology, in both a construction and renovation context, help Mark consult and advise on low-voltage systems technical and architectural integration. In addition, Mark manages projects related to electronic security and audiovisual technology construction. Through the coordination of activities on multi-discipline construction, he is able to deliver on-time and on-budget projects. Mark also develops design and construction documents and identifies and develops innovative approaches to achieve client goals.
In previous roles, Mark served as a Security and Project Management Consultant at Texas Tech University Health Science Center where he provided services to develop a facility-wide security technology upgrade of outdated and disparate security technologies to create a unified and interoperable IP-based security enterprise.
As a subject-matter expert, Mark served the U.S. Department of State as a Technical Security System consultant on multiple overseas U.S. Embassy projects. These included construction and renovation projects in Russia, Brazil and Namibia. As a Technical Subject-Matter Expert and Management Consultant for the Social Security Administration (SSA), he managed a multi-discipline team of manufacturers, contractors, consultants, engineers and SSA representatives to design, document and deploy a standard-compliant, integrated, 1,500-site video surveillance, access control and intrusion detection system. While working as a consultant for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve, Mark advised on the relocation of the Central Command Center and coordinated manufacturer, contractor and client responsibilities and ensured project components were provided in appropriate sequence to meet the schedule and minimize service disruption. In addition, Mark conducted a detailed, facility-wide survey of interior and exterior features, focusing on security technology and CPTED considerations for the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Mark earned his Bachelor of Arts in Information Sciences from Slippery Rock University. He is a certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPD) practitioner through the National Institute for Crime Prevention, a Certified Technology Specialist – Design (CTS-D) through InfoComm International and a certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) through ASIS International. He is member of InfoComm International and ASIS International.
